About

Jimmy Llewellyn Thorsell is an organisational leader, project developer, organisational development specialist, and event producer with extensive experience across the cultural sector, education, public policy, and research. For many years, he has worked within culture and education, as well as on public health-focused research and development initiatives.

His professional background includes the creation, development, and management of projects and organisations in areas ranging from HealthTech and health literacy to cultural policy and community engagement. He currently works within the fields of traditional music and LGBTQ+ rights, combining strategic development with advocacy, education, and cultural programming.

Alongside his professional work, Jimmy maintains a keen interest in traditional Japanese martial arts and practises both Iaido and Naginata. He is also an enthusiastic collector of books, despite an ever-diminishing supply of shelf space.
He shares a co-op household with three humans and three cats. Officially, the arrangement is egalitarian; in practice, the cats are firmly in charge and the humans exist largely to facilitate their comfort and ambitions.
